Context and Opportunities

In a reconstruction phase, Liberia has one of the lowest electricity access rates in the world. National and international efforts are focused on rehabilitating basic infrastructure. Agile and rapidly deployable off-grid solutions like RMS Impact are crucial to accelerate development and improve living conditions outside the capital, Monrovia.

Potential Intervention Zones

The rural counties of Lofa, Nimba, and Bong, which are important agricultural breadbaskets, are priority targets. Providing energy and connectivity to these regions would support agricultural processing, enhance health and education services, and create opportunities for youth.

Institutional Partnership

The Rural and Renewable Energy Agency (RREA) is the key institution with which a partnership would be developed, in coordination with development programs funded by international donors highly present in the country.
