Republic of Niger
Context and Opportunities
Niger, a landlocked country in the heart of the Sahel, has one of the lowest rural electrification rates in the world. Its immense solar potential is still largely untapped. Access to energy and water is a matter of survival and human development for millions of Nigeriens. Off-grid solutions are the fastest and most economical way to change this reality.
Potential Intervention Zones
The Tillabéri, Tahoua, and Maradi regions, which are densely populated and have high agro-pastoral activity, are priority areas. An RMS Impact hub could power pumps for irrigation, health centers, and provide vital internet connectivity for education and information.
